dinner vote

i have been put in charge of organising a dinner gathering for bloggers by [mercermachine], incident documented right [here]. :p

i guess it was silly posting the options via comments, which would probably cause a lot of mess, so i'll do this here:

can interested peeps coming to the dinner please vote for any of the below? new suggestions are also welcome. :)

my tried&tested haunts:

[seafood]

[chinese]

[japanese skewers]

[posh italian]

[great value french steak&fries] (please ignore mushy drivel before the actual food pics and brief description)

new spots i've yet to try:

[wild rocket]

[ps cafe] (such a *ahem* useful link)
[chubbyhubby on ps cafe]

[iggy's] (another 'useful' link)
[chubbyhubby on iggy's]

who's coming?

:)

It's been awhile since I have had a good steak, so I am definitely leaning towards that.

actually i think les bouchons is really the perfect place for a small dinner gathering for us. :) and i really like their rose wine.

so that's 3 votes for les bouchons!

And now you have to find a when...I have friends in town until Sat 7th (they leave early) so please make it after that. ~grin~

I'm actually still going "phwoar" at that seafood platter... It's the Sydney in me.

But steak is fine by me too. So long as you don't tell me the cows name. Or make me reread "Fast Food Nation" or "My Year of Meat", or "Animal Liberation". It is Ramadam as well, does that change things? Only kidding - definitelly not vegitarian (vag?)

Mmmm, a juicy eye fillet, melt-in-your-mouth rare to blue... Sounds brilliant actually - I am doing a steak in Stilton-cheese sauce tonight with crispy noodle colesalaw and a boiled spud.

I'm in town for quite a while as my China trip is cancelled, or maybe translated to Taiwan, so anytime you tell me I'll there, except next Friday (learning to play poker).

can someone ask PC and VPS if they're in as well? and if they have preferences?

do people want a weekend dinner or weekday? i think saturday is best so a bit of wine can be had (though some people work sundays too... is there a better day where this can be avoided?).

indy: your friends get rather long vacations don't they? :p do they leave early in the day on 7th or night? les bouchons doesn't open sundays so it's either going to be a saturday or weekday?

expat: we can do steak this time and seafood the next! :)

Can't make it for tonight's, but if we're doing dinner another night then steak!Yum!Meat!

For me a weekend would be preferable. Not that it makes much of a difference since I have to turn into a pumpkin anyway.Sigh.
